About Hepatitis E Virus IgM (HEV IgM) ELISA Kit

HEV IgM is an indirect solid-phase enzyme assay based on micro wells coated with recombinant antigens representing ORF2 and mosaic artificial antigen representing immunodominant regions of ORF2 and ORF3. The conjugate is a mixture of HRP-labeled anti-human IgM antibodies. Serum or plasma samples are added to the wells and if antibodies specific for HEV ORF2 or/and ORF3 immunodominant regions are present in a sample, they form stable complexes with the HEV antigens immobilized on the wells. Then the antigen-antibody complexes are identified by the addition of HRP antibody conjugate. The unbound components are removed by washing. After addition of the solution containing TMB and hydrogen peroxide, the wells with bound conjugate develop a blue colour which is converted to yellow after the reaction has been stopped with sulphuric acid. The colour intensity is directly proportional to the concentration of HEV antibodies in the specimen and can be read at 450 nm or 450/620 nm.

Streamlined Assay Principle

This HEV IgM ELISA kit operates using an indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method. The design enables specific identification of HEV IgM antibodies in human serum or plasma by utilizing colorimetric detection, allowing for straightforward analysis and minimal setup.

Comprehensive Components

Each kit includes a rectangular microtiter plate, ready-to-use reagents, positive and negative controls, and all essential materials for manual testing. The components are arranged to facilitate efficient workflow and reliable outcomes in laboratory settings.

Fast and Reliable Testing

The protocol is easy to follow, offering rapid results in approximately 90 minutes. High sensitivity and specificity guarantee accurate detection of HEV IgM antibodies, making this kit ideal for clinical and diagnostic applications within laboratories.

FAQs of Hepatitis E Virus IgM (HEV IgM) ELISA Kit:

Q: How does the Hepatitis E Virus IgM (HEV IgM) ELISA Kit detect HEV antibodies?

A: The kit utilizes an indirect ELISA method, where HEV antigens coated on a microplate interact with IgM antibodies present in the patients serum or plasma. Colorimetric detection at 450nm signals the presence of HEV IgM antibodies.

Q: What sample types can be used with this kit?

A: The HEV IgM ELISA Kit is suitable for use with human serum or plasma samples, facilitating flexible sample preparation in laboratory environments.

Q: When should positive and negative controls be included in the assay?

A: Both positive and negative controls, provided in the kit, should be included in every test run to validate assay reliability and result interpretation.

Q: Where should the HEV IgM ELISA Kit be stored for optimal performance?

A: Store the kit at a temperature between 2-8C, avoiding any freezing, to maintain reagent stability and ensure accurate test results throughout its 12-month shelf life.

Q: What is the process for obtaining results using this ELISA kit?

A: Prepare the sample and add it to the microtiter wells along with the reagents, following the protocol steps. After incubation and washing, substrate is added, and results are read colorimetrically at 450nm within approximately 90 minutes.

Q: What are the benefits of using this kit for HEV IgM detection?

A: Its high sensitivity and specificity, rapid result generation, ready-to-use reagents, and comprehensive content make the kit highly advantageous for laboratories seeking efficient and accurate screening of HEV IgM in human samples.
